Look at the object honestly: a few hundred pounds of cast-iron harp wrapped in lacquered wood that gives nowhere and remembers every careless knock forever. Hand it to a general crew improvising past a tight Old Northeast turn and a permanent scuff is practically the plan. That’s why we route these jobs to a team that does nothing else. They use a piano skid riding on four casters together with a purpose-built board, lock it down under ratchet straps, and pile on heavy quilted pads. Nobody outside our own roster touches it, so you’ll never have a stranger rolling the dice on a corner while the thing teeters.

The Sequence on the Day
We open by mapping the route, laying down protection, and shielding each rail and run of wall before the first lean. Uprights stay vertical, anchored to the skid. Grands get the legs and pedal assembly detached and padded, the body laid onto a quilted board, then rolled out on one edge under straps. A wet porch in a sudden downpour means we dry and protect the path and the ramp before anybody hoists, because a single slip under that mass is exactly the wreck the whole procedure rules out. A downtown or beach high-rise job gets the freight elevator reserved so the keyboard skips the stairs entirely.
Outside Our Scope
Safe transport is ours; tuning is yours to arrange afterward, ideally a couple of weeks out, once the piano settles into its new room and the Florida humidity.
