Gulfport’s streets are narrow and the curb down by Beach Boulevard fills up fast, especially when the art walk or a market has the waterfront busy. When I scope the job I read the block, claim a legal spot that keeps the carry short, and time the morning so we’re not boxing in a neighbor or fighting the waterfront crowd. Where a full-size truck won’t fit the street, I stage from the closest open spot and relay in – that whole arrangement sits inside the locked figure, never tacked on later.
Old bungalows, careful hands
These bungalows carry their years – heart-pine floors, narrow doorways, porch steps, the occasional steep interior stair to a converted attic. So we slow down: blankets on every piece before it leaves the room, foam on the jambs and rail, a partner on anything heavy. Everything rides covered, with runners laid from your door all the way out to the truck, and the original woodwork gets the patient path over any gamble.
