Pricing your relocation out of St. Petersburg to another metro

Leaving the bay for good? Alpha Movers handles interstate and long-region relocations that start in St. Petersburg, the Pinellas beaches, or anywhere in Tampa Bay, running up the Florida corridor and across the Southeast. Each item travels wrapped in pads, logged on a manifest, and protected by a written no-damage commitment from our own crew. Pull a ballpark band from the estimator below, then let us assemble the full quote around the actual contents of your place.

Treat this as a ballpark, nothing firmer. Where the number lands for real comes down to your complete inventory and the access situation at each address. Get your quote — it costs nothing and there is zero sales push.

Locked rates on the lanes we run most often

These are the destinations Tampa Bay households contact us about more than any others. Each row is a single fixed band, and that one band already accounts for your own truck, the crew, the gas, the moving pads, and the everyday packing materials.

How an Alpha Movers long-haul unfolds, stage by stage

  • Survey and inventory first. We never confirm a date before we have walked the home — either on site or by video — and recorded each thing going on the truck. That list is what your locked quote is calculated from, and it is the exact reason no surprise add-ons appear later.
  • Loading the truck. When move day comes, the crew wraps and takes apart the furniture, then builds and locks down the load using load bars and ratchet straps so nothing slides around once the highway gets going.
  • On the road. Your belongings ride a single dedicated truck with GPS tracking the entire route. Dispatch keeps an eye on conditions out there — the summer storms across the Florida corridor and the winter ice that can glaze the Blue Ridge grades on a Carolinas run.
  • Unloading. Once we reach the destination, the same crew carries everything inside, sets each item in its room, reassembles the furniture, and hauls off the used wrapping. Nothing gets signed until you have inspected it and given the nod.
  • The same coordinator start to finish. One person stays with your move from the opening estimate right through to the final box — no being bounced between departments mid-job.

Everything baked into the long-haul price

  • An exclusive truck. Your load goes solo on its own truck. Because it is never combined with someone else’s shipment, your delivery never sits waiting while another customer’s drop-off gets sorted out.
  • One outfit at both ends. The same crew that loads up in Tampa Bay is the one that unloads at the far end — you are never handed to a local agent you have never spoken to when the truck pulls in.
  • Gas and tolls. The fuel and every toll — Alligator Alley, the Miami expressways, any Southeast express lane — are already folded into the locked figure.
  • Pads and the manifest. Each piece is wrapped, strapped down, and recorded on the manifest, with the entire shipment riding under our damage-free guarantee.
  • Furniture disassembly and reassembly. Bed frames, the dining table, desks, shelving — anything that has to come apart for transit is broken down and then put back together at the new place.
  • Coverage on your goods. Standard protection of $0.60/lb per item is included automatically; if you would prefer full-replacement coverage, we price it in when we quote you.
Good to know: we hold our own US DOT (2914650) and MC (1024388) authority for interstate work plus Florida intrastate authority (FL IM), we carry $1M in cargo coverage, and the team is covered by full workers’ comp on every haul. If the new building asks the mover for a COI, that is a no-cost hand-off from us.

Need to park your things between closings? Our storage covers that

Move-out and move-in dates rarely line up neatly on a long-distance job — you may close on one end before the other is ready, or just prefer some breathing room in the schedule. Since the climate-controlled storage in Pinellas belongs to us, your shipment can wait safely here on either side of the trip and ship out exactly when you tell us, without any outside company ever touching it.

Common questions about long-haul pricing

Why does long-distance pricing work differently than an in-town job?

For local jobs, the charge is built on hours worked and crew size. Over distance, three factors set the rate: the size of the shipment, the road mileage, and how reachable each entrance is. And because we lock the rate flat, you never get blindsided by a weigh-station tally at the destination.

Will my belongings sit in a warehouse somewhere along the way?

They will not. The shipment goes door to door on the same truck, straight from your Tampa Bay address to the new one. If you need somewhere to park things at either end, our short-term storage in Pinellas covers it.

Can my car come along too?

Hauling vehicles is not something we do in-house, but we will line up a licensed auto-transport company and sync the timing so your car arrives in roughly the same window as your household goods.

Is there a deposit?

Reserving your date takes a modest deposit, generally around 10 to 15 percent of the total, and it applies directly toward your final bill. The remainder is due at delivery, after you have inspected everything.
